In the last home game of the season, the Niles freshmen football team shutout Benton Harbor on the gridiron, 30-0.

The Vikings (6-2) jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on a 3-yard run by Fritz Findeisen, with Anthoney Bice’s extra point attempt successful.

Findeisen went on to score another touchdown on a 6-yard run.

Other touchdowns were scored by Aaron Pierce, who caught a 15-yard pass from Cole Clemens and Chris Mangus completed a 40-yard pass to Bice for the score.

Outstanding plays on defense were made by John Franklin, who had two quarterback sacks, and Eri Villegas and Alec Landon, who both played a strong game at nose tackle.

When considering the key to this victory, coach Dave Landon noted that the defensive line played and tackled well, while on offense, the running backs played hard and the linemen made space.

Coach Steve Grayson added that defensive coordinator Jim Brawley made great calls, firing at all cylinders.

The Vikings, now 6-2, return to action at Loy Norrix next Thursday to close the season.
