OTSEGO – The Dowagiac junior varsity football team posted a 45-12 victory over host Otsego Thursday night.

Sam Courtney had a big night on both sides of the football according to coach Matt Alward.

He intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown as well as threw for four touchdowns.

Three of those passes were caught by Dontel Highsmith.

Dan Crandall had the other touchdown reception.

Highsmith also scored on a run.

George Robertson returned an on-side kick for a touchdown in the first quarter.

The freshman footbal team dropped a 14-13 decision to the Bulldogs.

Dowagiac trailed 14-0 at halftime, but scored twice in the second half, but came up short on the 2-point conversion with 1:45 remaining on the clock.
