Marcella “Marcie” R. Killingsworth, 76, of Edwardsburg, died on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, in Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Ind., after an illness.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg. Father David Otto, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Niles officiated.

She was born on Nov. 30, 1932, in the Chicago area, the daughter of the late Richard and Isabelle (Clark) Rankin.

In Chicago, she married Wilmer David Killingsworth, who died on Dec. 30, 2007.
They lived in Chicago for several years, before moving to South Bend, Ind., where they were active and had many friends. then they moved to Shavehead Lake in Union, settling in their later years in Edwardsburg.

To this marriage four children were born: Colleen Rose (David) Hammon of Mishawaka, Ind., Sheila Maureen (Phil) Fleming of Osceola, Ind., Monica Aileen (Mark) Shaefer of Plymouth, Ind. and David Robin (Debbie) Killingsworth of South Bend, Ind.

She also leaves five loving grandchildren and two beloved great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Alicia Trybom.

She was active in church activities and was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg, until recently when her health prevented her from being as active as she wanted to be.

Arrangements were by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
