The Cassopolis girls’ Varsity volleyball team made the nine mile trek south on M-62 to face rival Edwardsburg in a Lakeland Conference varsity volleyball contest.
The reception they received was nearly as chilly as the weather outside.
In the first set, the Rangers made it a contest for a little while and had the host Lady Eddies back on their heals, until a few costly miscues by the visitors, and some great plays by the Eddies got the ball rolling in their favor.
Once the ball started rolling it was like it was going downhill, as Edwardsburg kept the pressure on their visitors from the north. The Eddies pulled away for an easy victory by the score of 25-15.
The second set wasn’t any easier for the Lady Rangers as the home team jumped on them from the beginning and just kept the pressure on. Cassopolis looked lost on many occasions, almost as if they weren’t sure who was playing where on the floor. The hosts scored a dominating 25 – 10 victory.
The third and final set was much of the same with Edwardsburg hammering the Lady Rangers by the tally of 25-4.
The Eddies improved to 17-12-2 on the season and 4-0 in the Lakeland Conference.
