BUCHANAN – Betty Greene Wegener, 90, of Dowagiac, died of natural causes at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at West Woods of Niles.

She belonged to Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church in Dowagiac, where she sang in the choir.

She also played in a seniors band and had been a homemaker and LPN.

A lifetime area resident who lived in Dowagiac for more than 60 years, she was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Gary, Ind.

Her parents, George and Sarah Greene, precede her in death.

Surviving are: a son, George (Linda) Wegener of Buchanan; two grandchildren, Josh Wegener and Jennifer Conard; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Wegener and Lillian Wegener.

One brother and one sister precede her in death.

There will be an 11 a.m. Mass Thursday, Oct. 15, at Holy Maternity with Father Leo A. Taubitz officiating.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
