RICHLAND – Visiting Dowagiac played well for the first game and a half, but couldn’t finish against host Gull Lake Thursday night in a Wolverine Conference volleyball match.
The Chieftains were defeated 25-23 in the first set, but fell 25-12 in the second set and then 25-1 in the final set.

“We came out and capitalized on their mistakes and we didn’t many any the first game,” Dowagiac coach Ryan Frontczak said. “We hung in there with one of the top teams in the state in our division and then we lost it. We have to finish things. It isn’t good enough to play well one game, we have to learn to play three good games of volleyball.”
