The Dowagiac tennis team will compete in the Division 4 regional tournament on Thursday at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind.

New this year is a $5 charge for spectators, if the matches are played outdoors.

If the tournament is forced indoors due to weather, there will be no charge.

Dowagiac will be competing against host Buchanan, Berrien Springs, Bridgman, Coloma, Kalamazoo Christian, Kalamazoo Hackett, Brandywine, Paw Paw and South Haven.

Chris Craft will open up play at No. 1 singles against Coloma’s Nathan Conrad. Joey Gajewski will face Kalamazoo Hackett’s Brock Downs at No. 2 singles, while at No. 3 singles Amarpal Sarao will take on Tanner Lindorf of Buchanan in the second round.

In doubles play, Mike McClenahan and Aaron Blaske will face Ryan Henckel and Josh Whitfield of Buchanan in the second round, while Jon Robinson and Dylan Chorba will take on Hackett’s Nathan Schneck and Michael Srodes in the opening round.

At No. 3 doubles, Marc Tyrakowski and Spencer Dodd will face Joshua Galameau and Justin Wyant of Coloma, while John Brosnan and Ben Thompson take on Bridgman’s Chad Starbuck and Bradley Montayne in the second round.
