Dowagiac harriers swept by Paw Paw

DOWAGIAC – Visiting Paw Paw braved the elements Tuesday afternoon to sweep the Dowagiac cross country team.

The Redskins defeated the Chieftain boys’ team 22-35, while the Lady Redskins posted a 15-40 victory over Dowagiac.

Paw Paw’s Kyle Richardson won the boys’ race with a time of 17:50.

Dowagiac’s Chris Gantt was second with an 18:04, while Kasey Proshwitz was fourth with a time of 18:13. Juan Meza was eighth (21:37) and Ryne Wilming 10th (22:13).

Jason Turner finished 11th (22:46), Ryan Daily 12th (23:06), Brandon Wilson 13th (23:11), Matt Ernzen 14th (23:47) and Tony Brooks 15th (23:51).

Paige Sutcliffe of Paw Paw was the girls’ winning with a time of 19:54.

The Lady Redskins took the top five places.

Leanna Allen was the first Dowagiac runner across the finish line in sixth with a clocking of 25:55.

Samantha Mathews finished seventh and Kelsey Cleveland eighth with times of 28:44 and 28:45 respectively. Ali Hess was ninth with a time of 29:06.
