Active meth lab found in Wayne

Cass County Drug Enforcement Team conducted a search on Monday, Oct. 5, at about 2 p.m. at a residence in the 54000 block of Glenwood Road in Wayne Township.

Upon investigation, detectives reported locating an active meth lab and several meth lab components.

Also found during the search was approximately $150 worth of methamphetamine.
A male subject was arrested at the scene and lodged at Cass County Jail in Cassopolis for meth possession, maintaining a meth lab, creating hazardous material and maintaining a drug house.

A female subject was also arrested at the scene for meth possession.

Three children were removed from the residence.

Drug and laboratory disposal crew responded to the scene to remove the hazardous material.

Subjects’ names were withheld pending arraignment.

This matter remains under investigation. Detectives may be requesting more charges later.
