Calvin Township crash sends several to hospital

CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that at 9:37 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, his office responded to a personal-injury traffic crash at the intersection of Calvin Center Road and Calvin Hill Street in Calvin Township.

Mark Steiner, 50, of Jones, was traveling south on Calvin Center Road when A vehicle driven by Dayna Curry, 19, of Osceola, Ind., was eastbound through the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and Calvin Center Road, failed to yield to right-of-way traffic and was hit by Steiner’s vehicle.

Curry and her two passengers,  Travis Morrow, 13, and Brittany Morrow, 18, both from Osceola, were transported to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.
Steiner was transported to Three Rivers Area Hospital for his injuries sustained in the crash.

Safety belts were worn by all.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Assisting were Life Care Ambulance, Edwardsburg Ambulance, Porter Ambulance and Penn Township Fire Department.
