RICHLAND – The Lady Bulldogs of Vicksburg edged Otsego for the Wolverine Conference golf championship on Thursday at Stonehedge North.

Otsego was first in the league tournament after shooting a team total of 375. Vicksburg was second with a 386, while Plainwell was third with a 391.

Dowagiac finished ninth overall with a score of 456. The Chieftains placed 10th in the final conference standings.

Brittany Haight of Otsego was the tournament medalist and overall league medalist.

Haight shot a 75 on Thursday and finished the year with a stroke average of 40.167. South Haven’s Courtney Gumpert and Hannah Lewis of Plainwell tied for second with an average of 44.583.

On Thursday, Lewis was second with an 83, while Gumpert was third with a 90.

Dowagiac was led by Cassie Stone’s 106.

The Chieftains also got a 115 from Maggie Cripe, a 116 from Lauren Smith and a 119 from Shannon Keene.
