Marshall G. ‘Cub’ Johnson / 1930-2009

Marshall G. “Cub” Johnson, 79, formerly of Penn Road, Cassopolis, died on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2009, in Haines City, Fla., following a battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, in the Mater Funeral Home, Marcellus, with Pastor Tim Perry officiating.

Cremation has taken place.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born on Jan. 5, 1930, in Niles.

On May 7, 1948, in Niles, he married Rosalie A. Horton, who died on April 5, 2004.
He was a farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved the outdoors.

He retired after 30 years at Bendix in South Bend, Ind. He was a member of Niles Masonic Lodge, the Moose Lodge of Winter Haven, Fla. and the Men’s Auxiliary of Marcellus V.F.W. Post No. 4054.

Surviving family includes two daughters, Evelyn (Tim) Evans of Cassopolis and Marsha (Don) Medd of Marcellus; a son, John (Patricia) Johnson of Marcellus; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Nancy) Johnson and Mark (Helene) Johnson; a sister, Dawn Bryant and nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Hospice.
