The Cassopolis soccer team dropped a heartbreaking 2-1 decision to Lake Michigan Catholic.

The Rangers led 1-0 just five minutes into the match on a goal by Blaise Suseland.
The match remained in favor of Cassopolis until the 62nd minute when an unlucky break knotted the score at 1-1.

A ball ricocheted off a Cass defender’s leg and into the goal.

A penalty kick in the 70th minute allowed the Lakers to take the victory.

After dominating the first half, Cassopolis was unable to match Lake Michigan in the second half and ended up on the wrong end of a 24-10 shots on goal count.

Singled out for their defensive efforts were Conner Wright, Agust Olafsson, George Samadder and Lucky Thammavangsa.

“Goalie John Simpson had a spectacular game with many impressive saves,” Cass coach Oli Olafsson said.
