EAU CLAIRE – Lybrook Elementary School in Eau Claire started its school year off with a bang.

The annual Back to School Night Sept. 2 was reported to be a huge success.

At this event the students were able to see their class lists and meet their teachers.

The transportation department was set up to answer questions about bus schedules.

The PTO had a table set up in the main hall with fundraiser information and sample cookies from the Frankenmuth Fundraising Co.

There was a popcorn stand where fresh popcorn was being made and given out all night, along with fresh apples donated by Anita Harner and fresh peaches donated by Dave Sprague.

Ice-cold bottled water was available to everyone.

The students really enjoyed the tattoo stations where they could get free temporary tattoos and the hair stations where they could get their hair sprayed and colored.

Frankenmuth Fundraising donated the use of  two large jumping castles that were a huge hit with the students.

The raffle drawing that occurred at 6 p.m. was also a fantastic success.

Prizes were donated by many local companies in the community:  Blossom Lanes Bowling Alley, McDonald’s, Harding’s, Meijer’s, Martin’s Supermarket and Wal-Mart donated gift certificates; Pizza Hut donated personal water coolers; Avon  and Mrs. Down contributed two iPods; Judy Ronk donated artwork; and KitchenAid donated a blender.

Lybrook Elementary School would like to thank the community and businesses for their support of the school. Its success would not be possible without the generous support of area businesses and caring people in the community.
