BANGOR – One of the area’s bigger cross country invitationals will be held on Saturday at Bangor High School.

Dowagiac and Buchanan will compete in Division 1 of the Bangor Cross Country Invitational.

Also competing in Division 1 will be Allegan, Benton Harbor, Berrien Springs, Cadillac, Hastings, Hopkins, Parchment, Paw Paw, Plainwell, South Haven, St. Joseph and Union High School.

The girls’ Division 1 varsity race is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. with the boys’ varsity race slated for noon. Races will begin ahead of schedule when possible.

There will also be a pair of middle school races starting at 9 a.m., while the Division 2 races will be held beginning at 10 a.m. A reserve race (junior varsity) will be held at 11 a.m. for both boys and girls.

Bridgman Invitational
Dowagiac will take part in the Bridgman Invitational on Monday.

The tournament, which also includes Michigan Lutheran, River Valley, Paw Paw, Lake Michigan Catholic and the host Lady Bees, will begin with pool play at 4 p.m.

Admission is $5 per person.

The Chieftains will be in Pool A with River Valley and Bridgman. Pool B will consist of Michigan Lutheran, Paw Paw and LMC.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the championship round.
