Steven Edward Phelps, 60, of Niles, died at his home on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009.
There will be a celebration of life, pot luck, on Sunday, Sept. 27, at the Knights of Columbus Hall starting at 1 p.m. Please bring stories and or pictures to contribute to his celebration.

Cremation has taken place.

He was born to the late Edward and Ruth Phelps of Niles.

He retired from Tyler Refrigeration in 2007, after numerous years of service and was the owner/operator of Beachcomber Resort in Niles until 2005.

He enjoyed motorcycles (Harleys and Indians), antiques, his pet pal and many friends and family.

He also loved the north country where he had a cabin and participating in many motorcycle events, such as swap meets with antique motorcycles. Most of all he enjoyed life.

He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Phelps Troutman of Niles and Dalen (Thad) Feighner of Grand Ledge; a granddaughter, Alicia Tickey; sister, Teresa Phelps Olbrich and a niece, Suzanna (Matt) Young, best friend, Anne Varga; and with his very special pet Pal.
