Rodts seventh, Calhoun 10th at New Prairie Invitational

NEW PRAIRIE, Ind. – The Niles boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished in the middle of the pack in the Class AA Division of the New Prairie Invitational on Saturday.
The 42nd annual cross country meet is the largest high school athletic event in Indiana.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran won the girls’ team championship with 74 points, while Niles finished with 326 points.

South Bend St. Joseph won the boys’ title with 37 points. Niles finished with 426 points.
The Lady Vikings’ Madie Rodts took seventh overall with a time of 19:56.2.

Anne Tyler finished 44th (21:25.4), Bridgett Carpenter 46th (21:30.4), Alex Haimbaugh 95th (22:32.2) and Maureen Craig 140th (23:54.5).

Mark Calhoun finished 10th overall with a time of 16:45.

Sam VandenHeede placed 21st (17:10), Anthony Horvath 60th (18:11), Barry Weddle 160th (20:22) and Kyle Ballge 175th (21:35)

Brandywine did not have a full boys or girls team.

Ryan Probst finished 118th with a time of 20:36 and David Schoenleber was 193 in 23:54.

Kelci Lockwood finshed 126th with a time of 25:54, while Kateynn Delgos was 134th with a time of 26:19.

Nicole Newman was 143rd (27:13) and Nicole Taylor was 160th (29:58).
