Niles tennis team blanked by Lakeshore 8-0

The visiting Lakeshore Lancers blanked the Niles tennis team 8-0 in a Big 16 Conference West Division match.

Niles’ Jared Langmeyer lost a three-set thriller to Lakeshore’s Brian Spitters.

Langmeyer won the opening set 6-4, but fell to Spitters 6-1 in the second half.

The third and deciding set was 7-6.

At No. 2 doubles, Niles’ Colin Leonard and Danny Touhey dropped a thriller, 7-6 and 7-6.

The Vikings will now take a break before playing in a SMAC crossover on Monday.
