Wade Ashley Erb, 51, of Runkle Road, Niles, died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, after an illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at First Missionary Church, 2325 U.S. 12, East, Niles, with Pastor Mark Slabaugh, minister of the church, officiating.
Burial will be in Smith’s Chapel Cemetery, Niles, in Milton Township.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg and one hour before services on Saturday at the church.
He was born on Sept. 5, 1958, in Benton Harbor to Donald Eugene and Madeline Todd Erb.

He had been employed working as quality control for Gunite Corporation in Elkhart, Ind.
He was a Scout Master for the Edwardsburg Boy Scouts. He was a good handyman.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

He liked to gamble and playing “Texas Holdum.”

Surviving family include two sons, Anthony W. (his fiance Alicia) Erb of Edwardsburg and Michael Berkley of Edwardsburg; two daughters, Ashley (Tyler) Carson of Edwardsburg and Charlene Diaz of Elkhart, Ind.; two grandchildren and two brothers, David Erb of Lawrence and Todd (Marcia) Erb of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Eugene and Madeline Todd Erb.
