Cody Michael Reid, 16, of Edwardsburg, died on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, as the result of a single car accident on May Street, Saturday, Sept. 12. He died in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind., where he was taken following the accident.

Friends may visit on Thursday, Sept. 17, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Hope United Methodist Church, 69941 Elkhart Road, Edwardsburg.

The Service of Remembrance will be on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m., in the Hope United Methodist Church.

Friends may also visit for one hour before services on Friday at the church.
Burial will follow at Adamsville Cemetery.

Cody was born on Oct. 26, 1992, in South Bend, Ind., the son of George and Melanie (Richardson) Reid.

He was a junior at Edwardsburg High School. He also attended Elkhart Career Center in the morning taking a class in mechanics and auto body repairs.

His life centered around his cars. He enjoyed working on cars that he would buy and make run.

He loved his family, then his friends, music and his dog, Mac. But cars were his favorite.
He is survived by his parents, George and Melanie Reid of Edwardsburg; his siblings, Brittany and Chad of Edwardsburg; his grandparents, Robert and Elaine Richardson of Edwardsburg and George, Sr. and Jo Reid of Edwardsburg.

He is also survived by a great-grandmother, Gladys Richardson of Anna, Ill.; several aunts, uncles and many cousins, as well as friends.

Arrangements were by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
