CASSOPOLIS – Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood reports that on Saturday, Sept. 12, at 3:50 his department responded to a personal-injury crash on U.S. 12 near Christiana Creek in Mason Township.

A motorcycle driven by William Wolverton, 44, was traveling west on U.S. 12 when he struck a garbage can and crashed.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Edwardsburg ambulance and Porter ambulance and fire.

Wolverton was transported to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
