Niles freshmen football team blows out St. Joseph

The Niles Viking freshmen football team scored early and often as they beat the St. Joseph Bears 43-14.
Anthoney Bice led all scorers with three touchdowns, which included a 30-yard pass thrown by Chris Mangus. Fritz Findeisen had two touchdown runs and Alec Landon had a touchdown run.
Offensive coach Jim Meyers was pleased with the line play and said the running backs ran hard.
The defense had big plays from Rodney Applewhite who had 2 interceptions. Mangus also had an interception and Bice recovered a fumble on kickoff.
Defensive coordinator Jim Brawley said that Landon had a great game and Applewhite played outstanding.
Coach Steve Grayson said, “our kids beat a good St. Joe team and it’s good that that the youngins got rewarded for all their hard work.”
The team, now 3-0, will travel to Portage Central next week.
