Craft, Parsons pick up wins for Chieftain tennis team

Visiting Buchanan swept the doubles flights on Thursday afternoon at the Dowagiac Middle School to take a 6-2 non-conference victory over the Chieftain tennis team.

Dowagiac won its two matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

Chris Chraft defeated Tyler Lindorf 7-5 and 6-3, while Bo Parsons defeated Nate Henckel 6-3 and 6-2.

The Bucks grabbed wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles with Tanner Lindorf and Derek Blank.

Tanner Lindorf defeated Joey Gajewski 6-1 and 7-6, while Blank defeated Amarpal Sarao 6-0 and 6-2.

Winning doubles matches for the Bucks were Ryan Henckel and Josh Whitfield, John Haslock and Jake Welsh, Corey Thompson and Alex Kuhn, along with John Backor and Agape Mpamira.

“The team is working hard in practices and it is beginning to show in the matches,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said.
