Ancilla College drops to 1-6

PLYMOUTH, Ind. – The Ancilla College volleyball team faced a laborious task over the weekend, when they faced Kankakee Community College (IL).

In a tight match, the Lady Chargers dropped to 1-6 on the season, with a 25-21, 25-11, 28-26 loss at the hands of the visiting Cavaliers.

Tamra Schmucker pounded down 14 kills to lead Ancilla, followed by eight kills from leading defender Lauren Krempec (10 digs). Tristan Hunter and Asia Patrick both added nine digs each, while Demi Schrader (Niles) finished the match with eleven assists.

The Lady Chargers open their Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference season on Thursday, when they host Grand Rapids Community College (4-1) at 6:30 p.m.
