Silver Creek Township’s next Neighborhood Watch Community Awareness Meeting on Monday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. at the township hall on Dixon Street features Cass County Undersheriff Rick Behnke explaining the E-911 tax request on the Nov. 3 ballot.

Behnke will provide all the facts and figures on why a millage is needed.

Aren’t we already paying a $1.18 surcharge on our phones?

Will the surcharge be removed if voters support this request?

This meeting is for you, the voter.

Be there.

Voters are being asked to approve up to a fifth of a mill ($.20) per $1,000 of all taxable property for five years beginning Dec. 1.

The levy, which would raise an estimated $364,588 its first year, would expire Dec. 1, 2013.
