Ana M. Garcia, 53, of Dowagiac, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Ana’s life began July 26, 1956, in Guadalajara, Mexico, the daughter of Carlos and Silvina (Flores) Meza.
She married Rodolfo Garcia on March 19, 1979, in Hartford.
Ana was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford.
In her younger years she enjoyed knitting baby clothing and doilies.
Her greatest love in life was her family, which includes: her loving husband of 30 years, Rodolfo; their children, Rodolfo Garcia Jr. of Dowagiac, Carmen Garcia of Dowagiac, Juanita (Oscar) Lara of Lawrence, Angelita Garcia of Dowagiac and Jesse T. Garcia of Dowagiac; her mother, Silvina Flores of Brownsville, Texas; three grandchildren, Jorge L., Arturo and Anthony Benitez; her sisters, Ramona Urquieta of Bangor, Maria Consepaton Noyola of Dowagiac, Maria Elena Gasca of Decatur, Maria Ariela DeLaCruz of Brownsville, Texas, Emma Marsall of Hartford, Diana Garcia of Hartford, Juan Carlos Meza of Dowagiac and Martin Meza of Dowagiac.
Ana was preceded in death by her father, Carlos, and her brother, Jorge Meza.
Her family will gather with friends on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McLauchlin- Clark Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford led by Father Fabio Garzon.
She will be laid to rest at Keeler Cemetery.
