Vicksburg tightens grip on Wolverine Conference golf lead

SOUTH HAVEN – Through the first three Wolverine Conference Jamborees, Vicksburg has been the class of the field.

The Lady Bulldogs tightened their grip on first place Monday morning as they won again, this time at HawksHead in South Haven.
Vicksburg shot a 191 to easily outdistance runner-up Otsego, which shot a 207.

Plainwell finished third with a team total of 212, while Paw Paw was fourth (215), Gull Lake fifth (220), Three Rivers sixth (223), Comstock seventh (228) and Dowagiac eighth (231).

Allegan and South Haven finished ninth and 10th with scores of 234 and 261 respectively.

Brittany Haight became the third different medalist as she shot a 37 to take top honors on Monday.

Ashley Denneweth of Vicksburg was second with a 44.

The Chieftains were led by Cassie Stone’s 52.

Lauren Smith shot a 57 with Shannon Keene and Maggie Cripe both finishing with a 61.

Haley Smith round out the scoring with a 63.
