BRIDGMAN – The Dowagiac varsity soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Lakeland Conference contender Bridgman Thursday night in a non-conference match.

Bridgman led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Alex Wells.

Dowagiac tied the match up in the 54th minute on a goal by Hazen McMeeken, which was assisted by Craig Zebell.

Sammie Higgin and Kyle Rotunda scored twice for Bridgman in the final 20 minutes to pull out the victory for the Bees.

“We controlled most of the game but were unable to finish against a tough keeper in Jeff Jakeaway,” Dowagiac coach Mike Williams said. “We played well but due to the lack of subs from injuries were ran out of gas the last 10 minutes.”
