BRIDGMAN – After a scoreless first half, host Bridgman picked up a trio of goals in the final 40 minutes to defeat Niles 3-0 in a non-conference match on Tuesday.

Bridgman scored its three goals in the span of 18 minutes in the second half to get the victory.

Both teams finished the game with seven shots and both goalkeepers made six saves.
“We played a strong first half and controlled the tempo for most of it,” Niles coach Jerry Holtgren said. “We generated some good opportunities but didn’t finish. In the second half, we tried to make an adjustment, but instead got away from what we wanted to do. I feel like we are progressing, and if we continue to learn from each game, we will get to where we want to be.

“We received solid play from midfielder Jonathan Eddy, who did a nice job distributing the ball. Our defense, headed by Pierce Knoll, Jacob Stanage and Cicone Palmore played aggressively and limited Bridgman’s shot opportunities,” he added.
