EAU CLAIRE – The Dowagiac varsity golf team was unable to protect its home course on Wednesday morning as it hosted the second Wolverine Conference Jamboree.

Vicksburg won its second straight jamboree as it shot a 188 at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course.

Gull Lake was second with a 194 and Otsego third with a 198. Rounding out the top five were Three Rivers (205) and Plainwell (218).

Dowagiac finished seventh once again, shooting 227. Placing in front of the Chieftains was South Haven with a 220. Comstock (229), Paw Paw (235) and Allegan (242) were eight, ninth and 10th respectively.

Plainwell’s Hannah Lewis shot a very fine 39 to earn medalist honors.

Lauren Smith, who shot 51, led Dowagiac. Sister Haley Smith shot a 56, while Shannon Keene finished with a 58, Maggie Cripe a 62 and Cassie Stone a 63.
