Cass falls to White Pigeon in five sets

WHITE PIGEON – The Cassopolis varsity volleyball team dropped a five set decision to host White Pigeon Tuesday night.

The Lady Rangers won the first set 26-24, but dropped the next two 25-20 and 25-20.
Cassopolis then knotted up their match with the Lady Chiefs by winning the fourth set 25-23.

White Pigeon pulled out the victory with a 15-5 win in the fifth and deciding set.
“The girls played tough defense and are transitioning well,” Cassopolis coach Brooke Borsa said. “We still need to work on mental toughness. Overall, the girls have improved greatly.”

Jessica Biek led the team in kills with seven and aces with six.

The Lady Rangers also got five kills from Olivia Stewart.

Emily Hartsell had 22 digs and Angela Feathers 18 digs.
