Drug team confiscates marijuana in Howard Twp.

The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announced that on Wednesday, Aug. 19, detectives executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of White Street in Howard Township.

During the search detectives located more than 50 suspected marijuana plants in and around the residence.

Detectives also seized equipment that is suspected of being used in the manufacturing of marijuana.

One adult male subject was placed under arrest at that scene.

He was lodged at the Cass County Jail on charges of manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a drug house and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

That subject awaits arraignment in Fourth District Court of Cass County.

The investigation led detectives to an address in the 2000 block of Bell Road in Berrien County.

CCDET detectives worked with the Berrien County Narcotics Team and located more evidence of marijuana manufacturing.

Detectives also located suspected marijuana and cocaine-related items.

Investigators will likely be seeking further arrest warrants in this matter.

The incident remains under investigation.
