Hospice golf outing set for Sept. 10 at Spruce

Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan Golf Outing around the Corner.

Save the date! The 11th Annual Golf Outing to benefit Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan’s Cass County program will be held Thursday, Sept. 10 at Spruce Ridge Golf Course in Dowagiac.

The 10 a.m. shotgun event is a four person scramble with an opportunity to play various contests.

The fee for 18 holes of golf, cart, prizes and lunch is only $140 per team and hole sponsorship is $45 per sign.

Great Lakes Lightning tryouts Aug. 22 and 29

The Great Lakes Lightning 14U softball team will be holding tryouts on Aug. 22 and 29.
The tryouts will be held at Bridgman High School beginning at noon.

16th Annual Behnke Memorial Aug. 22

The 16th Annual Behnke Memorial Golf Tournament will be Saturday, Aug. 22 at Spruce Ridge Golf Club.

The cost for the four-person scramble, at least one woman per team is $200 total, which includes: 18 holes of golf, food, beverages and prizes for all.

Included are four hole-in-one contests with a chance to win a flat screen TV, Big Bertha irons, two round trip air tickets or $5,000.

There will also be a putting contest, with the winner getting a nice prize and a chance to win $2,500.

A 50/50 drawing will take place, along with prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt.

Registration is 8:30 a.m. with a start at 9 a.m. sharp. Sign up at Spruce Ridge or call 782-9252.

All proceeds for this event go to SMC scholarships.

‘Big’ Hole Scramble Aug. 23 at Spruce Ridge

The Dowagiac “Big” Hole Scramble will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23 at Spruce Ridge Golf Club.

The event will benefit both the boys and girls basketball programs at Dowagiac.
There will be a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per person.

There will be cash and door prizes, a closest to the pin contest, a longest drive contest, $20 team skins, $20 mulligans, a hog roast and refreshments.

Patriot Day Golf Outing at Signal Point Club

NILES – The Signal Point Patriot Day Golf Outing is a benefit for the Folds Of Honor Foundation.

All proceeds go to the Folds Of Honor Foundation, which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.

The event will be held Sept. 4.

Following lunch, golfers will tee off at 1 p.m. at the Signal Point Club, 1475 W. River Road in Niles.

The format is a four-person scramble. Entry fee is $280 per team. You can also get a foursome and a sponsor sign for $380 or you can sponsor a hole for $100.
