, 92, of Horton Court in Niles, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at West Woods of Niles, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church in Niles with Pastor Brad Lomax officiating.

Internment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles.

She was born on April 11, 1917, in Niles Township, to George H. and Lucia C. (Anderson) Smith.

She graduated from Niles High School in 1934 and attended her 75th class reunion.
She was a lifetime resident of Niles and wintered in Florida.

She retired in 1980 after 20 years of service as a realtor, from Kelly Real Estate in Niles. She held both a Michigan and Florida real estate license.

Agnes attended Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church in Niles. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 332 in Niles, where she was a 50-year pin recipient.

She enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, shopping at the Marshall Shop in Dowagiac, long drives in the country and spending time with her family.

On Aug. 17, she first married William Van Emmons, who died on March 20, 1980.
Later, on Sept. 7, 1983, she married John Lewis Wilson, who died on April 24, 1997.
On Feb. 28, 2004, in Deer Creek, Ill., she married Roy W. Miller, who survives.

She is also survived by her step-children, Judith A. Chelf of Mason, Terry D. Robinson of Hendersonville, N. C., Penny J. Lester of Rockledge, Fla., Barbara Curry of Rock Hill, S.C., Sandra K. Dickson of Normal, Ill., Thomas H. Miller of Niles and John David Wilson of Federal Way, Wash.; grandchildren, Kay Payne of Niles, Beth A. Mumaw of Bradenton, Fla., Jan A. Lucero of Niles, Paulanne Chelf of Madison, Wis., Julane Himmelsbach of Galena, Ohio, Christopher J. Chelf of Hastings,, Scott M. Chelf of Holt; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Gerry E. York, who died on Jan. 25, 1999; a grandson,, Greg Schrumpf, who died on Aug. 28, 1983 and brothers, George and Frank Smith.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cass County Animal Shelter or Emmanuel Bible Baptist Church in Niles.
