Buchanan soccer practice begins Aug. 12
The Buchanan boys’ soccer team will begin preseason practices on Aug. 12.

Morning practice will run from 9-10:15 a.m. at the high school track. Evening practice will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the middle school.

You must have a physical in order to practice.

Hunter Safety Class to be held Aug. 13-15
A Hunter Safety Class will be held at Bend of The River Conservation Club Aug. 13-15.
Classes will run on Aug. 13 and Aug. 14 from 6-10 p.m. Class on Saturday will be held from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Bend of The River Conservation Club is located at 900 Mayflower Road.

3rd Annual Belew golf outing Saturday
The 3rd Annual Kameron Belew Memorial Golf Outing is slated for Saturday at Spruce Ridge Golf Club.

Tee time for the four-man scramble event is 2 p.m.

Cost is $60 per person, which includes a hog roast dinner after the outing.

Frazier softball tourney looking for teams
DOWAGIAC – The 7th Annual Bryan Frazier Memorial Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Dowagiac’s Rotary Park.

To register a team or to volunteer to help, call 782-3698 or 782-3362.

All proceeds go to the Bryan Frazier Memorial Scholarship Fund.

3rd Annual Cat Tracks Aug. 15 at Brandywine HS
The Third Annual Cat Tracks 5K Trail Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 beginning at 9 a.m.at Brandywine High School.

This will be a challenging course on surrounding farmland with hills, sandy stretches and utilizing part of the high school cross-country course which features “the swamp”.
Our famous dirt track is history, come out and see our new athletic facilities and be one of the first to finish on our new track.

Unique acrylic trophies will be presented to the overall male and female winner, medals will be awarded three deep in each age group for the run and the walk.

New this year will be timing and scoring by Niles Optimist race timing.
Event will be held rain or shine.

Entry fees are $15 pre-registered until Aug. 1, $18 after the that date and $20 on race day.
Early packet pickup and late registration will be at the high school cafeteria on Friday Aug. 14th from 5-8PM.

Race day registration on the 15th will be from 6:30-8:30 a.m.

Entry fee includes a t-shirt (guaranteed for pre-registered only), post race refreshments and door prizes to be drawn during the awards ceremony.

All proceeds from the Cat Tracks 5K will go to the Brandywine Track & Field program .
Entry forms are available at the Bell Education Center, Niles-Buchanan YMCA, Benton Harbor-St. Joseph YMCA, Lakeland Athletic Club, and Metro Run&Walk in Mishawaka.
