Niles 0-2 at Senior Little League state tournament

PORTAGE – The Niles Senior All-Stars will enter today’s final game of pool play at the Michigan Little League State Tournament with an 0-2 record.

Niles was defeated by Brownstown 11-3 in its opening game and then fell to Midland 12-1.
Niles is scheduled to take on Saginaw Township today at 1 p.m.

The top two teams from each pool advance to the championship round which will begin at noon on Sunday.

Midland is the only team to lock up a spot in the next round.

Brownstown and Saginaw Township, who have both have played just one game, were scheduled to play this morning at 10.

Niles must defeat Saginaw to keep its hopes of advancing alive.
