A team that decided to compete in the Dowagiac City Tennis Tournament’s doubles event at the last minute walked away with the title.

Lisa Rubino and Michelle Urbanski teammed just in time to defeat Sue Watson and Ami Sarao in the finals on Saturday morning, 6-2 and 7-5.

In the men’s portion of the tournament, held at the Dowagiac Middle School, Larry Watson and Jim Darr defeated Mike Urbanski and Dave Negron in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3.
