Marge Dudeck and Paul Jones, better known in the Michiana area as Marge and Paul, will be providing musical entertainment for the new Coins for Cass County Cancer Service luncheon at Dowagiac Elks Lodge 889 on Wednesday, Aug. 12, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Cost is $15 per person.

Marge and Paul are well-known in the Michiana area, having a weekly weekend engagement at Round Oak Restaurant in Dowagiac for the past 20 years.

Both artists have an extensive background in music.

Marge started as a pianist-singer in the Green Bay, Wis., area, where her most frequent guests were Packers coach Vince Lombardi and his wife.

Lombardi’s favorite song was “Darktown Strutters Ball.”

Upon returning to the South Bend, Ind., area, you might have seen her at The Wooden Keg, Eddies Restaurant, The Club Lido, The Lincoln Highway Inn and The Pick Oliver.
Around 1982, Paul joined her at The Pick and they have appeared together ever since.

Paul has been a professional musician for 42 years and also a public school music teacher in South Bend for 29 years.

Guest speakers for the luncheon will be Dr. Rudolph Navari, assistant dean and director of the Indiana University School of Medicine, South Bend campus, along with directing the Cancer Institute at the University of Notre Dame.

Cheryl Weise, board member with Berrien County Cancer Service, will also be attending.

“We hope that the entire county will support our luncheon and our fundraising in order to help us keep financially sound and to give the assistance to the cancer patients that they really need,” President Donald Hall of Dowagiac said Wednesday. “Come to the Elks for a wonderful lunch and great entertainment.”
