Howard Township teams eliminated from Cal Ripken tournaments

VINCENNES, Ind. – Howard Township 10-year-old All-Stars competed in the Cal Ripken Baseball Ohio Valley Regional and finished with a 1-2 record.

Howard Township fell to Germantown, Ky. in its opening game on Friday, but bounced back to knock off Springfield, Ohio on Saturday after rain delayed the tournament.

The All-Stars were eliminated from the tournament on Sunday by Geneseo, Ill. in 10 innings.

Winning Player of the Game Awards for Howard Township were Noah Frantz, Alex Harpenau and Jake Hamm.

This was the second straight year that the All-Stars had played their way into the Ohio Valley Regional.

9-year-old All-Stars
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Howard Township 9-year-old All-Stars also went 1-2 at the Ohio Valley Regional.

Howard Township lost to Schererville, Ind. 4-3 in its opening game on Friday.
Jake LaLone and Mike Mudd both had doubles for the All-Stars.

In their second game against Fern Creek, Ky., Howard Township won 4-2.

Conner Brawley had three hits and Thomas Dunlap added a pair of singles.

Brawley and Dunlap combined on the mound for the victory.

In its final game, Howard Township was defeated by Elizabeth, Ky., 10-9.

The game was delayed multiple times due to weather, eventually being postponed until the following day.

Hunter Bedell had a triple and two singles, while LaLone also had thee hits. Bray Plomb added two hits.
