The matter of a liquor license transfer will be the subject of a public hearing to be held prior to the regular meeting of the Niles City Council Monday night.  The hearing will be held at 5:55 p.m.

Following, the council will face a relatively light agenda.

Members will consider approving a request by Niles Main Street to hold the annual US-12 Heritage Route Garage Sale on Friday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 9 as well as approving the waiver of the Transient Merchant License, Ordinance No. 269, for the downtown area for those days only.

Niles Main Street also submitted a request to the council for approval of a request to hold the annual Dragon Boat Challenge in conjunction with Riverfest on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 7 and 8, along with permission for the use of the boat ramp/dock at Riverfront Park for the event.

As part of the city administrator’s report, council members will consider adopting a resolution to approve the location transfer of a 2009 Class C licensed business, with dance permit to 217 N. Fourth St.

Also on the agenda for Monday night’s meeting, the council will be asked to consider approving the appointments of Richard Ladonski and Romain Snow to four-year terms on the Public Park and Recreation Board effective immediately. Terms for Snow and Ladonski would then expire Dec. 31, 2013.
