Buchanan woman killed

A Buchanan woman lost her life Sunday after her vehicle struck a tree.

The Michigan State Police Bridgman Post reported that Stevie Rae Tidey, 18 of Buchanan died Sunday after her vehicle left the roadway on Cleveland north of Shawnee Rd. in Baroda Township.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, but police say they are not sure why Tidey’s vehicle went off the road.

Agencies assisting in the accident included Baroda Lake, Bridgman and Berrien Springs police departments, Baroda and Lake Township fire departments, Medic One Ambulance and the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
