The Dowagiac 10U and 12U softball teams both picked up wins Thursday night.

The 10U All-Stars defeated Coldwater 15-3 in Michigan District 15 play, while the 12U All-Stars topped Buchanan 9-6 at the Coloma Tournament.

Hannah Whitakear tossed a two-hitter with six strikeouts for the 10U team, which finished with 12 hits.

Megan Soderbloom had a double and two singles, while Mara Nelson and Kenley Belew each had two hits.

Whitaker and Mickie Kiggins both had doubles.

Dowagiac will play in Mattawan at 10 a.m. on Saturday and in the Coloma Tournament against North Lincoln and 2:30 p.m.

Tori Smith and Alyssa Allen shared pitching duties for the 12U squad. Kourtney Mitchell, Allen, smith and Riley Daly all had hits.

Dowagiac defeated Three Rivers 6-3 in District play on Wednesday. Cali Rank had two hits.
